In addition to not using any added hormones or antibiotics in our All Natural Wyoming beef, we believe in only using All Natural Ingredients for all our beef snacks. When we talked to our first food consultant about making jerky, he said he’d been in the jerky industry for 26 year, and that we had to use MSG and sodium nitrite to make good jerky.
But we were persistent.
We asked him if he knew where he could order some celery juice powder for us. He said, “Yes.” We said, “Great! Please use this celery juice powder and leave out the sodium nitrite. Also, leave out the MSG.” He shook his head disapprovingly and muttered quietly as he walked out of the room, “I’ll make it, but it won’t be good.”
When we came back a week later to taste the jerky that he had made with our All Natural Wyoming beef and WITHOUT sodium nitrite or MSG, he had a big smile on his face and simply said, “It’s amazing!”
We knew from experience that if you have tender, delicious beef to begin with, you don’t need MSG as a flavor enhancer. You don’t need sodium nitrites or nitrates or anything artificial. “All Natural” tastes great!
